Tapered Roller Bearings

Tapered roller bearings consist of an outer ring, inner ring, rollers and a cage. They are arranged so that the rollers and the raceway meet at a common apex. The rollers are guided by contact between the large end of the roller and a rib on the inner ring. Taper roller bearings can be found in a range of sizes and types including single row, paired single row, double row and four row designs. They are capable of taking high radial loads and thrust loads in one direction. Common applications include gear boxes, pumps, compressors and the automotive industry
